Is this a will?

No. DigitalLifeMap is an organizing tool, not a legal document. It does not replace a will, trust, or power of attorney, and nothing here is legal advice. Bring your printed plan to your attorney so your estate documents can reference it.

Why won't you hold my passwords?

A vault of everyone's passwords is a single, very attractive target. A map of where things live is not. Even a complete leak of your DigitalLifeMap data would not unlock a single account. The one place a secret lives is your printed plan, in your handwriting, in your safe.

Question 3

So how does my family actually get in?

Accepted Answer

Three ways, in the order the law generally recognizes. First, the platform's own tool (Google Inactive Account Manager, Apple Legacy Contact, Facebook Legacy Contact) — we walk you through turning these on. Second, your will or power of attorney, which your attorney drafts. Third, your printed plan, which tells your executor what exists, what matters, and where to start.

What is RUFADAA?

The Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act, adopted with variations in most US states. It sets an order of authority: a platform's own online tool outranks your will, which outranks the platform's terms of service. That is why we push you to set the platform tools first — they are free and they win.

Question 5

Can I delete everything?

Accepted Answer

Yes, immediately, from Settings. Delete your account and every row tied to it goes with it. We do not keep a shadow copy and we will not email you a retention offer.

What does the beta cost?

Nothing. The validation beta is free, with no card required. It covers up to 30 accounts and a 60-day planning window so we can learn how people really use it.

What happens if you shut down?

You keep your printed plan and a JSON export of your map. Because we never held a secret, nothing of yours is trapped inside this service.
